Soccer Season

Nick is playing soccer this fall and had a game this afternoon. I don’t mean to brag, but Nick is so good at soccer. Actually, he’s just really good at all sports. No joke, he just is. It’s so much fun to watch him play. I got a few good shots of him today. It’s so funny to look at these kids facial expressions!

(this was the first goal of the game and that would be Nick on top of the kid that scored)

This is after Nick plowed the kid over (the other team was awarded a penalty kick for that one, nice Nick)

Big Reveal!

After a year and a couple months, Skyler got his braces off today! Yippee! No more brace face, metal mouth. He can finally go back to eating all those terrible chewy things he was missing. Here he is with bare teeth!

Looking through old pictures

Brynn and Sam both need pictures to bring to school this coming week, so while looking through my entire chest full of pictures, I came across this one of my boys when we were sealed in the temple. Isn’t it just darling? They were so stinking cute! Not that they aren’t anymore, they’ve just grown so much :( (The picture is not as clear as I’d like, but I had to scan it with my printer)

Labor Day Hike

Nick and Sam went hiking this past weekend and brought along some friends. They went to White Pass on the Pacific Crest trail to Deer Lake and Sand Lake. They had a lot of fun even though they got soaking wet. It decided to start pouring shortly after they began their hike. You’d think that would have ruined it, but of course that just added to all the fun. Slipping and sliding all the way down the mountain. Here are some pictures from their day.

No, Sam isn’t holding deer poop, that’s what I thought too. They’re huckleberries!

Family Day

Today we took the kids to Palouse Falls. Our kids aren’t big fans of long drives, so it being only just over an hour away it was a perfect day trip. The kids had fun climbing the rocks and putting their feet in the water. There are trails that lead right down to the bottom of the falls, but the trails are very narrow and we didn’t want to take the chance of losing one of our kids, so we played it safe. We were still able to hike all over and it was nice that it was something that we could all do together. Even Brynn kept up and did really good with all the walking. All in all it was a great day of spending quality time as a family!

First Day of School!

Skyler 1st day of school 09

Skyler on the first day of 8th grade!

Sam and Nick 1st day of school 09

Nick and Sam on Monday morning. Nick is a big 5th grader now and Sam is starting 2nd.

 Brynn 1st day of Kindergarten2

Brynn on the first day of Kindergarten. Soooo exciting! I cannot believe that she’s old enough to go to school. Time goes by so fast. I’m really glad that they are slowly transitioning the kindergartners in. It’s making it a lot easier for me. She went for 30 minutes on Monday and I was able to go with her. Then today she went for 2 hours:( and Friday she’ll be there the full time :( :( I’m so sad!  I remember being sad with all of them, but this time is even worse. Probably because she’s the baby and I’m realizing they’re all growing up. I know, I should be happy. This is going to take some getting used to. Either that or Danny’s going to have a Dr. appointment for a little reversal. (ha,ha, just kidding. I’m not that crazy!)

Brynns 1st bus ride

Brynn’s very first time on the school bus! When I picked her up from the bus stop, I asked her what she thought of riding the bus and she said, “it was scary, they don’t have seat belts on the bus!”  Too cute!
